Combimix® CM 780 Fiber Basic

Fiber-Reinforced Self-Leveling Underlayment
CM 780 Fiber Basic is a calcium aluminate cement–based self-leveling underlayment reinforced with fiberglass filaments for added strength. It is designed for indoor use over a wide range of substrates and provides a durable, flat, smooth surface ready to receive coverings. With installation thicknesses from ¼″ up to 4″, CM 780 is ideal for projects requiring thicker applications without sacrificing stability or performance.

Description

CM 780 is engineered for versatility and strength in demanding environments. The fiber reinforcement improves crack resistance and stability in thicker pours, making it an excellent choice for leveling uneven substrates.

  • Indoor use only; not for exterior or wear surface applications
  • Covers substrates including concrete, lightweight concrete, stone, ceramic tile, gypsum, quarry tile, cement/epoxy terrazzo, wood (with reinforcement mesh), and well-bonded VCT/VAT
  • Pumpable or hand-applied for efficient installation
  • Fiber-reinforced to minimize cracking and enhance durability
  • Working time: 10–25 minutes at ~70 °F
  • Final set in 1–3 hours; walkable in 1–3 hours
  • Coverable with floor coverings after 1–3 days (depending on thickness)
  • Very low shrinkage (0.03–0.05%)
  • Water-damage resistant; not a vapor barrier
  • Fire classification A1fl

CM 780 is approved for use over properly prepared substrates when a smooth, level base is needed before installation of finished flooring such as tile, carpet, or vinyl.

Best Applications

  • Thick leveling installations up to 4″
  • Floors with uneven or damaged substrates requiring reinforcement
  • Wood subfloors, when used with reinforcement mesh
  • Multi-substrate renovations (stone, tile, terrazzo, gypsum, VCT/VAT, lightweight concrete)

Substrate Requirements

  • Clean, sound, and free of dust, grease, or weak material
  • Adhesion strength ≥ 72 psi
  • RH ≤ 90% prior to pour
  • Must be primed with PP 600 before installation
  • Ambient and substrate temperature ≥ 50 °F (recommended 50–77 °F)

Packaging

  • 44 lb (20 kg) bags and big bags
  • Shelf life: 6 months unopened, stored dry on plastic-coated pallets
