NPS Concrete Sealer

NPS is a self-crosslinking, nano-based aqueous copolymer concrete sealer in a single-component, water-based formula. It bonds into the substrate for penetrating adhesion, with 60 mg abrasion resistance per ASTM D4060 and FDA 21 CFR 175.300 compliance for indirect food contact surfaces when fully cured. UV stable for interior and exterior use on open concrete, polished concrete, stamped flatwork, pavers, brick, stucco, and dimensional stone.

Description

NPS is a nano-based aqueous copolymer that self-crosslinks after application. The chemistry bonds into the concrete substrate, anchoring the polymer network below the surface for long-term adhesion under heavy traffic. Single-component, water-based formula, ready to use from the pail with water cleanup.

The product adheres to alkaline surfaces and poorly neutralized acid-stained concrete, which matters on projects where the acid stain work was not perfectly neutralized before sealing. Set to touch in 2 hours with a 2-hour minimum recoat window and no maximum recoat window, so crews can coat on their own schedule. VOC compliant at 95 g/L. Available in Gloss and Extra-Low Gloss finishes.

Features and benefits

High abrasion resistance for commercial and industrial traffic
60 mg loss per ASTM D4060. Rated for warehouse floors, retail spaces, commercial corridors, and industrial facilities where foot traffic, equipment, and material handling put constant wear on the surface.

FDA 21 CFR 175.300 compliant when fully cured
Meets FDA performance characteristics for indirect food contact surfaces. Rated for commercial kitchens, food processing facilities, cafeterias, and food service environments that require FDA-compliant floor sealers.

Single-component, water-based formula
A single-component formula with no mixing ratios or pot life constraints. The product is ready to apply straight from the pail. All tools clean up with water, which cuts time on multi-day projects where crews would otherwise be managing solvent cleanup between coats.

UV stable for interior and exterior use
Will not yellow or degrade under prolonged sun exposure. Crews can use the same product on interior polished concrete and exterior stamped flatwork.

Adheres to alkaline and poorly neutralized acid-stained concrete
Bonds to substrates that were not fully neutralized after acid staining. Incomplete neutralization is one of the most common causes of sealer adhesion failure on stained concrete, and NPS holds on those surfaces.

Flexible recoat schedule
Set to touch in 2 hours. Minimum recoat time of 2 hours with no maximum recoat window, so crews can apply the second coat whenever their schedule allows.

Finish and color options
NPS is both a clear sealer and a color carrier. Available in Gloss and Extra-Low Gloss. For maximum gloss, burnish with 400-grit diamond pads after a 72-hour cure.

Substrate compatibility
Approved for use on:
  • Open and polished concrete
  • Stamped concrete and micro-toppings
  • Self-leveling concrete
  • Concrete block, brick, and pavers
  • Stucco
  • Dimensional stone (many types)
  • Acid-stained concrete, including poorly neutralized substrates

Estimated Coverage by Substrate

Estimated coverage per gallon by substrate condition
Substrate Condition Approximate Coverage per Coat
Smooth / standard concrete (1st coat) ~500 sq ft/gallon
Smooth / standard concrete (2nd coat) ~850 sq ft/gallon
Aggressive broom finish / rough texture ~250 sq ft/gallon
General range (all substrates) 250–1,000 sq ft/gallon per coat

Note: Rougher substrates have greater surface area and absorb more material per square foot. Always conduct a test area to establish actual coverage for the specific substrate and condition.
